frankly, i have no idea why my cats get along so well! they do have occassional tiffs but seem to patch back without much human intervention. we do do some feet stamping and growling when one of them tries to start a fight to show them who is boss. and then we will assuage wounded feelings by stroking and hugging each of them in turn until they can stand to be in close proximity again.

Is your top cat or senior cat (in terms of date of adoption) one of those super friendly cats? I suspect this rubs off on the new cats you adopt.
sadly, my KK is not friendly at all, especially to new cats and humans. Therefore, the other 4 might have got the hint from her and did not develop their friendly side of their character.
actually Rosie is not very friendly, although she will tolerate new cats to some extent unless they are in the wrong place at the wrong time (i.e. when she wants that spot to herself). she takes a while to warm up. but there are enough friendly curious cats like Suede, Tooty and now Blackie who are always looking for new playmates!

If I did to Bonnie what Suede is doin in the last pictor, she'd rip my guts out. Sigh. I wish she was nicer to me. Oh, she tolerates me much more than she used to, and I sorta mostly respect her, cept when I just can't help it an haf to pounce her. I mean, I'm a young cat. I HAF to pounce her. Right?
