so small so fragile

little kitten died in its sleep. after 2 feeds, it seemed so perky and happy, curling up onto the woman's palm to sleep. after leaving it to sleep on its own to prepare the next feed, the woman checked back to find it restful but found it still shortly after.

You gave it some love towards the end of its short life. That's better than dying in the drain.

It's always touch and go for these young things. I am not sure if I have the nerve to try it another time.

Sorry about the kitty. You've tried your best.

Oh no.

Sorry to hear. So fast.

But like kxbc said, it's touch and go. Especially if the others had already died - it might only have been a matter of time before whatever killed the rest got this little one too.

And if they're always screaming or too quiet/still, it's usually a sign that they're pretty far gone.

For some strange karmic reason I've had to deal with quite a few neonatal rescues before, so if you do need the help in future just let me know.

(ps - Offer of help extended to MAF and trusted cat associates only!)

Hi V, So sorry to hear bout the poor fella. I had a similiar experience. Poor kitty survived for 5 days before he succumbed. Left me bawling my eyes out for days! I partly blamed myself for the inexperience of caring for one so young.

I've gone through an 8 week old resued kitten which died of vaccinosis, it seemed so sad and all, but after a while she had a loving home for 2 weeks. And having that period with the kitten did teach me alot of things. Like force feeding and all.

May this lil kitty rest on rainbow bridge. :)
